With an extremely wide field of view.

With birds often hiding in dense cover, it’s essential that you have a wide field of view to allow you to spot any slight movements. Depending on the model, the field of view is between 120 m and 155 m, giving the user an impressive overview.

Confirm all details.

With a true-to-life image quality.

Compromises cannot be made when it comes to bird identification – fine details have to be recognised within seconds for an accurate and reliable identification. The ZEISS Victory SF family was developed to master the most demanding situations encountered in birdwatching. The optical performance was maximised with a UFL Concept. This allows the user to master the most demanding of bird-watching scenarios, ensuring every precious moment is captured with absolute clarity.

Hours of focused observation.

With specially designed ergonomics.

To fully enjoy some of nature’s most breathtaking moments, such as the beauty of migrating raptors above a hotspot, one key ingredient is needed above all: time. Long periods of observation are often necessary, meaning the ergonomics of your binoculars are essential. This the reason why ZEISS Victory SF binoculars are constructed with a uniquely ergonomic design. The SmartFocus Concept includes a perfectly positioned focusing wheel that enables fast and precise focusing even after many hours of observation (between 1.6 and 1.8 turns, depending on the model). In addition, the ErgoBalance Concept of the binoculars – with the centre of gravity being shifted closer to the user – ensures effortless observation over long periods of time, giving you more time to experience the many impressive moments that nature has to offer.

Protecting what we love.

ZEISS nature conservation projects.

ZEISS optics deliver fascinating observations and unforgettable moments to nature lovers and birdwatchers throughout the world. Reason enough to protect what we observe as well as we can. This is why ZEISS actively supports numerous nature conservation projects.

BirdLife International

In Morocco, ZEISS and BirdLife International are working together to protect the Northern Bald Ibis, one of the world’s rarest birds, from extinction. The intensive activities are showing the first signs of success, the population is increasing again.

Young Birders Weekend – Cornell Lab of Ornithology

ZEISS and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology support young birders. The Young Birders Weekend brings together young people who want to share and intensify their enthusiasm for birding.

Migrant Bird Projekt Israel

Together with the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel (SPNI), ZEISS protects various migration flyways over Israel. The measures include renaturation of fish ponds, setting up resting and feeding places and the conservation of sources of food. As result of this, numerous rare species now have a safe route on their yearly migration to Africa.

Grassland/Reed Birds Conservation Program

Grassland birds nest on the ground, and are therefore critically endangered by nocturnal predators. In collaboration with the Naturschutzbund Vorarlberg organisation, ZEISS is dedicating its efforts to the protection of these birds by biotope management and intensive defence against predators. The project has already registered numerous successes on a local scale.

Champions of the Flyway

The aim of the event is to promote birdwatching and simultaneously collect donations for the protection of birds. ZEISS sponsors several teams taking part in this 24-hour birdwatching marathon and helps with the organisation of the opening gala. Since 2014, the event has managed to collect donations amounting to a total of USD 350,000.

The ornithologist and conservationist Richard Porter tests the Victory SF 32.

The British ornithologist and conservationist, Richard Porter, who was one of the first to test the ZEISS Victory SF 32 binoculars, was hugely enthusiastic: “The binoculars were beautifully balanced, with exceptional optics. I was left in no doubt that they would immediately become an essential part of my birdwatching armoury. With the Victory SF 32s, I was able to react instinctively. In all situations – coast, marsh, reedbed, woodland – I found that even the most elusive birds were easy to follow – and identify”. As a lifelong birder, Porter knows only too well that “Sometimes it is only small features in the plumage that make the crucial difference in being able to precisely identify a species. Such challenges in bird identification do not allow for a compromise in optics.”
